Singaporean Nathan Hartono wins a spot on Jay Chou’s team on Sing China

Remember Nathan Hartono? After winning the Teenage Icon singing competition in 2005, Nathan quickly established himself as the jazz sensation of Singapore, releasing his debut album, “LET ME SING! Life, Love and All That Jazz” in 2006.

But most people in the Mandopop scene have probably not even heard of him, let alone listened to any of his tunes. Well, the 25-year old Nathan is a very different singer today. Stepping onto the stage of Sing China, his first performance in mainland China, Nathan was calm, composed and captivating.

Singing William Wei’s (韦礼安) 有沒有, Nathan won praises from all the judges with Jay Chou even hinting to Nathan about giving him a spot at his upcoming concert in Singapore. After much deliberation, Nathan eventually chose Jay Chou to be his mentor for the rest of Sing China. We echoed the thoughts of Na Ying when she said that Nathan was charisma, looks and talent all rolled into one.

Hopefully this competition will give his career the must needed dose of stardom.
