The Singapore audition for Super China Vocal 2016 (中国好声音) is now heading for its semi-final round.
Between 40 to 50 candidates will be battling it out at the closed-door semi-finals, held at the China Cultural Centre on May 7.
The 12 semi-finalists will then undergo intensive training and compete for the 3 spots in the grand finals. The finals will be held as a concert on May 21 at The Coliseum at Hard Rock Hotel Singapore. The top three contestants will get a chance to realise their dreams in China and stand a chance to be mentored by the show’s 4 judges: Jay Chou, Na Ying, Harlem Yu and Wang Feng.
Super China Vocal was initially known as “Voice of China”. It was rebranded after a legal dispute over the copyrights of the name. The show kept its Chinese name, 中国好声音.
The last 2 rounds of the Singapore audition were held at NYJC on 4 May and EASB East Asia Institute of Management on 25 April.
In the previous season, The Voice Of China season 4, husband-and-wife team Alfred Sim and Tay Kewei represented Singapore, but dropped out of the competition as they were not picked by the mentors.
