    by -

With so many restaurants offering sumptuous Christmas goodies, celebrating the festive season with friends and family don’t have to end up being a sweat fest in the kitchen. From turkeys with fancy stuffings to whole honey baked hams and champagne spiked log cakes, the options are unlimited. Just put in your order ahead of time, kick back and enjoy the evening with friends and family to the fullest. Here are 5 Christmas takeouts to choose from.

    Pan Pacific Singapore

    beef-rib eye and coconut-ham

Pan Pacific Singapore offers an array of traditional Christmas roasts ranging from its Traditional Roasted Turkey with Cornbread, Sausage and Apple and Pecan Stuffing (4-5kg, $158) to the signature honey glazed ham with cinnamom and pear chutney (2kg, $128). If you want something different from the typical turkey, give the hotel’s other bestseller, the Roasted Beef Rib Eye with Fresh Herbs and Truffle Sauce ($158) a try. At 2.5kg, the roast beef is great for smaller parties of 4-6 people. If that’s too heavy, there’s also a healthier version of the baked ham, the healthy coconut, honey and cinnamon baked ham (2kg, $158).

For desserts, try the hotel’s new log cake flavour, Fresh Calamansi Log Cake with Coconut Crémeux and Pandan Sponge (1kg, $68). The fresh, citrusy lime notes will make a nice pairing with the heavy Christmas meal.

    Goodwood Park Hotel

    christmas takeway

If you’re a fan of Goodwood Park’s durian pastries, then the Mao Shan Wang durian Christmas log cake ($62 for 500g) is a must for your year end celebration. Packed with creamy Mao Shan Wang durian goodness within layers of vanilla sponge, this treat is bound to excite all durian lovers.

For turkey, try Goodwood Park’s new creation, Wu Xi turkey ($218 for 8 to 10 persons). Created by Executive Chef Foo Jong Kwang, the juicy and tender Asian-inspired turkey is the result of braising with red yeast rice, red dates and a secret blend of spices for up to two hours. The turkey is served with Shanghai-style vegetable fried rice studded with dried shrimps and goes really well with its homemade chilli sauce.
