Macarons are an exquisite meringue-based cookie, and are known to be incredibly difficult to make. This also makes it pretty tough to find decent-tasting macarons here in Singapore.

We’ve gone searching, and have come up with the six best macarons you can find in Singapore. Our judgement is based on the fragrance, texture and taste of these macarons.

    1. Bonheur Pâtisserie

The macarons from Bonheur are one-of-a-kind. These guys are as much artists as they are pâtisserie chefs, with various interesting and unique macaron flavours offered almost every week, apart from the standard flavours. Only caveat is that they’re are located at Pasarbella at The Grandstand, Turf City, which is slightly inconvenient for non-drivers.

But you know what? It’s completely worth making the trip down.

What makes these macarons so awesome are the unique tea-infused and localised flavours. Texture is pretty acceptable and the macarons aren’t too sweet. Try the Vanilla Bourbon Tea & Kaya and the Grand Wedding Tea, Passion Fruit & Coconut.

Run by one of the top pastry chefs in Singapore, Antoinette promises excellent cakes and desserts, and its macarons certainly live up to the pâtisserie’s first class reputation.

    4. Ladurée

No article about macarons should exclude the mention of Ladurée. The pastry is baked to perfection, and it’s not too sweet – certainly one of the best we’ve tasted.

Is it expensive? Certainly – but that doesn’t take away the fact that it’s one of the best tasting macarons in Singapore.

    5. Patisserie G

Located in the often-quiet Millenia Walk, Patisserie G serves great coffee, along with their tasty selection of pastries – macarons included.

While the macaron selection here is pretty limited, we found that it wasn’t too sweet, and is the perfect complement to a good afternoon coffee.

The macarons here come in mini sizes, which is perfect for getting a box to share with friends and family. It also helps take away some guilt of having too much of these sweet delights!
