We braved the rain for Beerfest 2017 — and it was worth it!

With the frequent downpours lately, the weather hasn’t been too kind for any sort of outings. However, that didn’t stop us from checking out this year’s Beerfest — and aren’t we glad we went! This year’s Beerfest features a selection of more than 500 craft beers from around the world all under one roof. There’s also live music performances from local bands, alongside food stalls.

If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, go crack open a couple of cold ones at the 9th edition of Beerfest Asia, held at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre.

Beerfest Asia 2017 also features the debuts of more than 100 new labels in Singapore. I managed to get hold of Brooklyn Lager, a classic from American brewing company Brooklyn Brewery. Famous for their barrel-aged beers, this is the first time such a creation can be found on our shores. The lager was exceptionally smooth and was a great complement to the chicken wings we ordered.

Prefer something different? Stark’s Lychee Ale promises a sweet tinge of lychee flavor without losing its original identity as a beer. If you’re looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, the label is collaborating with local ice creamery, Creamier, to bring you a selection of beer floats. Stark Craft Beer is Indonesia’s pioneer craft beer brewery and is making waves upon its entry into the local beer scene.

Other brands to check out: Draft Denmark is introducing its unicorn beer, an Instagram-worthy beverage that is a treat for both your eyes and taste buds. Looking for something with a little more local punch? Tune up the merry at your table with Archipelago Brewery’s Singlish beers. With catchy names like Ki Siao Brown Ale and Sibeh Ho Witbier – you’ll be kept entertained all night!

Beerfest Asia 2017 also features 3 stages for live music and DJ sets alongside workshops and classes to bring out that beer maestro in you. There are also a whole range of activities such as Beer Yoga (on Aug 20) and games like darts, beer pong and virtual golf.
