A new seafood restaurant is getting noticed by many foodies — and it’s none than The Seafood Krub.
Opened by a husband and wife team, the main draw of the restaurant is its rustic charcoal grilled fresh seafood.
The food here is inspired by seafood BBQ joints in Thailand, which explains its Thai-sounding name. Think fresh scampi prawns, succulent shellfish and whole squid cooked slowly over a tender charcoal fire to your desired doneness.
Prices are decent with a seafood platter for 2 going for $39. It comes with 2 large scampi prawns, a squid, 6 mussels, 4 scallops and some vegetables and shitake mushrooms. A large platter for 3 or 2 hungry people costs $59 – you get double portions of almost everything from the small platter.
Adding to mix are meat options like chicken wings ($8 for 6) and rib-eye steak (250g for $22). You can also order cooked dishes like truffle fries with seasalt ($8). It’s not quite your regular Thai fare but we guess everything goes when you’re hungry and watching like a hawk for the food to be cooked.
The are different dipping sauces to go with your food, ranging from teriyaki sauce, which goes very well with the grilled vegetables, sweet Thai chili sauce and seafood dipping sauce.
Seafood Krub is located on the first floor of Centurion Student Living Student Hostel opposite the famous Rochor Beancurd.
