Concept bars and clubs are aplenty in Singapore but a golf club and bar? Surely you want full focus on your game before hitting the bar afterwards. But not to worry, at Singapore’s first mini golf club & bar, the game is not going to hurt your handicap but it will certainly test your aim after you knock back a couple of drinks.
Taking over the former site of nightclub Shanghai Dolly, the Holey Moley Golf Club concept first appeared in Brisbane and is the brainchild of parent company Funlab. It features a wacky mini golf course and cocktail bar that turns a traditional game of putt-putt into a labyrinth of holes you can play – with a drink in your hand of course.
Holey Moley Golf Club can host as many as 450 guests and features a total of 27 holes split across two floors. Each hole pays homage to a range of pop culture themes – from TV shows (Game of Thrones, The Simpsons) to classic childhood films (E.T., Jaws) and nostalgic board games (Monopoly). To add a local twist to the concept, the Funlab team added a putting hole named ‘Upside Down’ which literally has your favourite hawker food hanging right above you.
Holey Moley hopes that its launch will inject a new element of fun into Singapore’s thriving entertainment landscape. With its technicolour and super Instagram-friendly decor, the latest venue at Clarke Quay looks set to draw millennials and young working adults.
For food and drinks, Holey Moley seems to have put more focus on its cocktails menu. Hunger patrons can expect crowd-pleasers like burgers, fried chicken and pizzas while cocktail enthusiasts can try out unique concoctions like Candy Man, a margarita with blended jelly beans and topped with fairy floss as well as classics with-a-twists like the ‘Austin Sours’ and ‘Putta Colada’.
