Singapore’s largest annual outdoor wine festival ‘Wine Fiesta 2015’ is back! This year, the fiesta will feature 70 winemakers and a whopping 350 wine labels. Presented by The Straits Wine Company (the GrateNews team likes hanging out at their city outlets) this year’s fiesta will also showcase 4 Singaporean chefs and several local bands to celebrate Singapore’s jubilee year.
Held from 22 to 25 October 2015 at Clifford Square (beside Fullerton Bay Hotel), organisers hope to offer a multi- sensory, 360-degree experience with the added dimension of gastronomic delights and entertainment for guests. Singaporean chefs, Malcom Lee from Candlenut, Bjorn Shen from Artichoke, Anthony Yeoh from Cocotte and Matthew Mok from The Rabbit Stash will each be presenting three original dishes specially created for this event and pairing it with selected wines.
But the highlight of the fiesta is definitely the wine itself. Over 350 wine labels will be represented this year and guests can interact with over 70 global winemakers and find out more about wine, tips on how to best enjoy these grape ‘juice’ and learn how different glassware can affect the wine drinking experience.
“Wine Fiesta has grown from strength to strength every year and we are incredibly excited to present a fun, all-encompassing event this year with the talents of home-grown chefs and local musicians melding for a complete multi-sensory wine experience,” said Ms Kathy Lim-Sheehy, the Group CEO of The Straits Wine Company.
Showcasing an extensive range of old and new world wines, visitors to Wine Fiesta 2015 can expect wines such as:
- AIX Rosé 2014, Coteaux d’ Aix en Provence, FRANCE
Multiple award-winning organic Provence Rosé, with two illustrious Gold Medals under its belt in the 2015 grand tastings in France.
- Viña Pedrosa “Gran Reserva” 2006, Ribera del Duero, SPAIN
Family-run Viña Pedrosa is one of the pioneers of the region of Ribera del Duero in Spain. Making wines with a focus on tradition, this beautiful Tempranillo with a splash of Cabernet is aged for five years before release.
- Castello di Brolio Chianti Classico Grand Selezione 2011, Chianti Classico, Tuscany, ITALY
Helmed by the Ricasoli family, the founders and creators of Chianti Classico, this historical estate is the oldest winery in Italy and the second oldest family winery in the world. This iconic Chianti Classico wine is the statement wine of the Ricasoli family with only the best selections of grapes from their estates.
While you can sample and buy wines at the event, you can also participate in some of the wine masterclasses focusing on different wine related topics. These highlights include:

- A special PLUMM glass masterclass will showcase how difference glassware brings out the best in your wine.
- Wine and food pairing masterclass with dishes presented by the four local chefs featured at Wine Fiesta.
All masterclasses are FREE and registration will be onsite on a first-come-first-served basis. So be there early if you are heading down.
The fiesta will kick off on 22 October with an exclusive Winemaker’s Table Dinner where diners get to sample 75 iconic wines and vintages hosted by winemakers. The dinner will be prepared by the four home-grown chefs and will be held at The Fullerton Bay Hotel.
