Walking into Sushi Kimura, you will enter a world that could as well be somewhere in Tokyo. Sushi Kimura is a fine-dining sushi restaurant that just opened recently at Palais Renaissance on Orchard Road. But it is already a hot contender for a Michelin Star.

The ingredients of each dish in its omakase menu, fresh seafood or even the water it uses for cooking, come from organic producers and are personally sourced by Chef Kimura from all over Japan. The original outlet in Tokyo was awarded 2 Michelin Stars, making Sushi Kimura in Singapore a high potential candidate for the next round of Michelin Star in the red dot.

The restaurant and its interior is quite a sight too. It has been strategically designed to evoke the sense of tradition and showcase the four seasons in Japan, as each wall is in a different shade and represents a season. Minimalism is key, but you will also find a few personal artefacts that belong to Chef Tomoo Kimura, including a part of his great-grandmother’s kimono which acts as a Noren (divider) and a ceremonial tea set that is hand-painted by his Sushi master.
