Get a taste of Southern US cuisine at the all-new The Bird Southern Table & Bar opening at the Marina Bay Sands.
The Bird is a 190-seater two-storey restaurant set against the scenic Marina Bay waterfront, allowing diners to enjoy the scenic views of the waterfront while dining. There’s also al fresco seating available, great for people watching on cooler evenings.
Southern comfort cusine may not be familiar to many. So here are some dishes you can expect. First up, there’s the famous 100-year recipe Lewellyn’s Fine Fried Chicken, consisting of tender fried chicken with waffles and cubed watermelon on the side. Other dishes include Shrimp ‘N’ Grits, Buttermilk Biscuits, and Butter Lettuce and Grilled Mango Salad. Amongst the classic southern favorites, The Bird will also create Singapore-exclusive dishes such as the Low Country Laksa, featuring a grilled snapper fillet served with a Carolina Gold rice pilau and caramelised ginger and coconut broth.
The Bird is known to have an extensive collection of Burbon from around the world. Some of its bourbon-based cocktails include Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade and The Bird’s Old Fashioned with bacon-infused bourbon. For an interesting mix, try the Japanese Porkchop, made with Yamazaki 12yr, dijon mustard, Marugoto Shibori Yuzu, unfiltered apple cider and fresh thyme.
The Bird restaurant is a collaboration between MBS and 50 eggs Inc., which was founded by renowned restaurateur John Kunkel.
