Singapore Fashion Week is set for more glitz and glamour after organisers revealed the addition of British designer Victoria Beckham and Thai-American designer Thakoon Panichgul for the 5-day long event. Both designers will join American designer Diane von Furstenberg for this year’s lineup, whose opening show for the fashion week was confirmed last month. All three designers will be presenting their Fall/Winter 2015 collections.
Better known as Posh Spice from her Spice Girls days, Beckham launched her eponymous label in 2008. Her label of streamlined and chic dresses now includes luxury handbags, eyeware and fragrances. Her fashion line landed her the Designer Brand of the Year in 2011 and Brand of the Year 2014 at the British Fashion Awards.
Thai-American designer Thakoon Panichgul’s design have been described as “timelessly feminine” and “as romantic and sensual as they are modern and innovative.” He counts Demi Moore, Sarah Jessica Parker and Rachel Bilson as his fans. His designs have also been worn by U.S. first lady Michelle Obama. Panichgul is also the recipient of the Vogue/CFDA Fashion Fund award in 2006.
Previously known as Audi Fashion Festival, the Singapore Fashion Week 2015 will see SK-II ambassador and Oscar-winning Cate Blanchett and Korean Hallyu star Yoon Eun Hye gracing the front rows of this year’s star-studded lineup.
The Singapore Fashion Week will run from 13 to 17 May 2015 and will be held at [email protected], Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza. Full details of the fashion shows and ticketing will be released in April 2015.
