If you have been too busy with your online shopping cart during the 11.11 Singles Day, you might have missed Xiaomi’s much anticipated tech wearable, the Mi Band Pulse or more commonly referred to as Mi Band 2 released on the same day.
This is the second wearable device from the Chinese company known for manufacturing feature-rich products at shockingly-low budget prices. Other than being a fitness tracker that monitors your steps and tracks your sleep, the minimalist looking Mi Band can also be used to set alarms and provide basic notifications like incoming call alert. The biggest change to the device is the addition of a heart rate sensor (hence the name Pulse) located at the back of the main component.
Design-wise, Xiaomi’s new wearable device looks almost identical to its predecessor. The Mi Band Pulse comes with a sleek looking aluminium sensor wrapped in a water-resistant and brightly coloured silicone strap. One the top of the sensor are 3 LED lights that are used to show the progress of your goals and notifications.
You can set up the Mi Band Pulse easily with the accompanying Mi Fit app. The app offers fuller details on your fitness goals, heart rate as well as sleep patterns. The new Mi Band can be used on both Android (4.4 or later) and iOS (iOS 7.0 or later) devices at launch.
Now, you may be thinking that a device like this is not going to come cheap. But Xiaomi did it again by offering the device at a jaw-dropping 99 RMB or around S$22! For now, the Mi Band Pulse will only be available for China but we expected the global rollout to countries outside of China to happen soon.
The Mi Band Pulse has just made it into our must-have Christmas item list.
