It’s Gaggan from Bangkok again for the number one spot in this year’s Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants.

The award now in its fourth year, picks the best restaurants from 13 countries in Asia to determine the final list of top 50 restaurants. 10 Singapore restaurants also made it into this year’s list.

We were fortunate enough to have met the prolific chef, Gaggan Anand, at an event organised by S. Pellegrino sometime back. Still in his 30s, the Kolkata-born chef is humble, entertaining and so passionate about his take on progessive Indian cuisine that he can’t wait to host you in his restaurant. One can expect nothing less from someone who cooked in the kitchen of 3-star Michelin El Bulli, helmed by the ‘father of molecular gastronomy’ and one of the best chef in the world, Ferran Andrià. Some of the dishes in Gaggan’s tasting menu include ‘Who Killed The Goat?’, sous vide lamb chops and ‘I Want My Curry!’ a crab curry dish.

In 2016, Gaggan managed once again to retain its two titles – The Best Restaurant in Asia and the Best Restaurant in Thailand.
