Catch this year’s cherry blossoms in full bloom – right here in Singapore

    by -

Every year, droves of tourists fly to Japan during Spring time to catch the awesome cherry blossom bloom season. But this year, Singaporeans can witness this beautiful event without actually having to leave the country. That’s because the cherry blossoms will be featured at the Flower Dome at Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay.

This is the second year the sakura display is taking place at the air-conditioned Flower Dome. What’s different this year is that there are more cherry blossom trees and they are more spread out around the Flower Dome instead of being displayed in one area of the dome. The 20 varieties of cherry blossoms are set in the Japanese-inspired zen garden.

The display will be at Gardens by the Bay until 24 March. However, like the bloom season in Japan, you’ll have to catch it at the right time if you want to see the full stage of blooming. Check the Gardens by the Bay facebook page for the state of the bloom. Based on the last update on 9 March, the trees are now 50% in bloom. Don’t miss this once-a-year event!

Flower Dome opens from 9am to 9pm daily, and tickets can be pre-booked online.
