French multinational video game developer and publisher Ubisoft is planning to open an indoor Ubisoft theme park located right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia by the year 2020.

The first of its kind indoor theme park will feature rides, attractions and shows inspired by some of Ubisoft’s biggest franchises, such as Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Ghost Recon, Just Dance, Rainbow Six, Prince of Persia and Raving Rabbids. Building on the successful track record of expanding Ubisoft’s game brands to theme parks like the award-winning Rabbids Dark Ride at French park Futuroscope, the Malaysia them park project will be led by the same Ubisoft Motion Pictures team and will span a total 10,000 square metres.

“Ubisoft’s intention for this park is to immerse people in reactive worlds where they can interact with each other and become the heroes of their own life-sized game,” said Jean de Rivières, Senior Vice President of Ubisoft Motion Pictures quoted on UbiBlog.

“Ubisoft will produce all digital media for the rides, and help design guests’ journey into the park to ensure the visitors’ experience is at its best,” he added.

Ubisoft is teaming up with Malaysian developer RSG to build this next-generation theme park. RSG will subsequently be the owner of the park and take over the running of the Ubisoft theme park.

“Malaysia is the second-most-visited country in Asia” Rivières cited a 2014 report by the World Tourism Organization. “There is room for multiple projects to take root in the region and a growing middle class with an increasing income and appetite for entertainment.”
